Welcome to Room 3
ROOM 3 at MIS
Hi Everyone.
Once again the Term is flying by and its hard to believe we are halfway through the second Term already.
This Term in Week 9 sees our annual Sports Exchange with Havelock North coming up and there are many excited students and teachers alike about the trip to Havelock. They are all training hard and working towards the common goal of holding onto the trophy for 2010.
In our class we are currently studying in our theme of Movement Around the World and the kids in Syndicate One ar epart of a rotation where they are visiting all classes in the syndicate and studying a different wonder of the world. There are many different aspects to this with art, music and kineaesthetic building activities all being enjoyed by everyone.
We are now working on Addition/ Subtration in our Numeracy Contract and the kids are really building on their strategies.
We are in the stages of working on Speeches and all the students are preparing and presenting a speech to their peers. There have been some really enjoybale speeches so far and I think this year has produced some of the better prepared speeches I have seen and heard.
It has been great to see some of our students featuring in the loacl papers with Tino, Kendall and Sam appearing with their outstanding results in swimming. I am still harrasing Mr Mailman saying that we should be having an interclass swimming competition this year.....however to no avail.....I think he knows we have too many dolphins in Room 3!!!!
Reports should have now been bought out of your kids bags so please read these and feel free to give me any feedback on any direction you would like your child to take and adjust or add goals to suit what you want your child to achieve or be part of.
Thankyou for all parents and the postiive feedback I have been getting and please keep in touch with any problems or postiitves you would like to give me.
Regards,
Darren Kerr.
