The Term Ahead
WELCOME BACK TO TERM 3
Welcome back to term 3. We are all well rested and ready to tackle any challenges in our path......
Speaking of tackles this term the school is doing a small unit on Rippa Rugby. Each class will get to take part in 2 skills sessions. We are really looking forward to them. Room 10 have already had 1 very successful session working with the guys from Wairarapa Bush on our skills. We are really looking foward to our next one.
We have recently completed our 3 sessions in the Life Education van learning about the brain and how it is effected by drugs and alcohol. We have learned lots to help us make good decisions in our lives. Charlotte, our instructor, made the learning interesting and fun.
In class we are starting the Changes at Puberty unit. We will be learning about the physical changes we will go through during puberty, relationships with others and how to care for ourselves. On Monday 2 August Leah MacKenzie, a Health Educator, and Leanne Tait, our school nurse, will be in Room 10 working with us on these topics.
Later in the the term we will be studying the Ancient Egyptians and how they lived. You can see we have a very busy term ahead!
Five Room 10 pupils represented MIS at the Super Sport Basketball Tournament - Matariki, Tanisha, Alison, Cheyenne and Stirling.
The Year 8's visited Wairarapa College this week and some Year 8's spent Tuesday at Kurunui College. Last term they visited Makoura College. It is that time of the year when Year 8's are making decisions about secondary school and filling out enrolment forms.
