Term Three Year 8's are into Designing

Technicraft

This term the Year 8 students are working in pairs and designing and making their own money container. They are required to come up with an idea of their choice with the use of sketches, after which they will produce a 2-dimensional drawing showing the different views and sizes that the project is going to be.

With my help, they will then come up with a cutting list of the materials and sizes required to get under way.

Along with the manufacture of their project, the students are also required to keep a diary on the steps that been carried out during the construction process.  It is also a requirement that every student imagines that they have made 100 items and that some form of advertising is produced to promote their products for sale.

It is going to be a very busy last term for the year 8's.

Options

The Option this term is wood carving where the students will design and make a carving of their choice. 

Arts Enrichment

During Arts Enrichment they will be learning to draw in one and two point perspective. From todays first lesson it looks as if there are going to be some excellent drawers.

Syndicate Extension

For the Syndicate 3 Extension group I am teaching eleven students to tell the time and during this programme each will be designing and making their own clock.
