Term 2

Term 2 is well under way. This Term all the Year 8's are learning the guitar and making great progress. We will also be keeping up our keyboard skills.

There is a drum kit in the room.It is one that was donated to the school some time ago and has been reconditioned by our Drum Tutor Dave Heath. It is lacking the 2 tomtoms. Does anydody have two of these lying about? Students get a chance to accompany the guitar Jam Sessions. There certainly is lots of talent out there. Students are welcome to come to the Music Room in the lunchtime to play the drums as long as I am in there. Many are taking up this offer.

This term 20 Ukuleles have been purchased for the Music Department. One of the Extension Groups from Syndicate 2 have been learning to play this friendly little instrument and also an Art Enrichment group.

A group of 12 students from Syndicate 2 are learning the recorder this term. Amazing progress has already been made.

The Choir is in full swing learning songs for an ArtSplash Concert which will be held in Wellington nest term. It's great to see the big number of boys in the choir. The sound is magnificent.

All our Music Tutors report enthusiastic pupils making good progress. There is at least one tutor working in the school every day of the week. Its very encouraging to see so many students taking advantage of this programme.
