Science Room Term 2

During Term 2 yr 7 students have been learnig about the layers of the earth and the rock cycle

Term 2 was a very successful term in the Science Room with the yr 7 students studying Geology As a unit .This has involved investigating the layers of the earth,the three main classes of rock and the rock cycle,we have had a very hands on term,using modling clay to model layers of the earth .We have made and erupted volcanoes ,seived sediments ,made metamorphic pancakes and interacted with a rock cycle board game. The mastery test results have shown great progress in this unit for our yr 7 students. 

There have been several other exciting programmes run through the science room in term 2 including Option One Science Fair investigations preparing for the Fair in 2010 in the town hall .                      

A Syndicate Extention Programme called 'Food For The Future' and lunch time Gardening Club  have continued to  develop the school garden. We have also set up a worm farm during term 2.
