Two of room 8's book response's

In writing this term we have written book response's here are two of them.

Boyznbikes

Boyznbikes by Vince Ford is a great book and really grabs your attention right from the first word and keeps it right till the last.

At the beggining Callum see's some shoes hanging on a power line, and gets expelled for shorting out all the power in the street and for falling on a police car.Little does he know these events will change his life forever.Geting expelled lets Callum go on the big ride which takes place between Gisbourne and Taranaki.During the ride he meantally grows up abit. The biggest surprise of all is when Callum finds out about Maddy and Shelly.Baz and Skid also acompony Callum and his dad on the ride.

Personaly I think it is a great book and would recomended it for ages 11 - 14 and would rate this book 4 stars out of 5.My favorite part is when Callum finds out about maddy and Shelly.

In conclusion Boyznbikes byn Vince ford is a great book for ages 11 - 14 and if you like an adventure story.

Viola Vincent Reporting

Viola Vincent Reporting is a great read written by Anna Kenna. Anna Kenna writes about real life incidents, abilities and apearances.

In Viola Vincent Reporting Caitlins mum, Rita has a terrible accident while mountain biking which leaves her stranded in a wheel chair. the handle bars on Ritas bike snaped off unusally so Caitlin decides to go under cover and investigate behind her Grandads back. Caitlin is also getting pressured by being put up for school counciler. She gets in with an amazing speech on 'how unhygenic the kids school toilets are'.

I liked how Caitlin used her curiosity for a good result to help her mum and to prove her Grandad wrong with the help of Megan a newspaper reporter. My favourite part of Viola Vincent Reporting is when Caitlin and Liam were investigating at the sellers house trying to take a picture of the trailblitz bikes that had cheaply ben imported from overseas.

While this book from the front cover looks like a girls book, I think that boys and girls from 9 - 13 would enjoy this book because its an adventure story with some humour thrown in. Anna Kenna shows her background  as a journalist to prove that curiosity isn't a bad thing.
