Woodwork is very similar to needlecraft, cooking and art because it is a skill requiring the use of one's hands. It is a manual subject where the reults are measured by what you have made and how well you have made it. You do not need to be especially good at maths or english to achieve at this subject, for example woodwork also requires some muscle strength. It does not appeal to people who are shy of strenuous work.

On Monday the woodwork room had a hard time working in the snow but on Tuesday ther was no sound in the woodwork room because ther was no school. The reason why the school was close because of the bad weather because only a few people could make it to school.On wedensday nearly all the snow was gone but by thursday the snow was all gone. Week nine has been a very busy one, the students have been very busy completing their Memo Holders and beginning their sketching unit. This unit will give them all a very basic understanding of the concepts of sketching and it is up to each and everyone of them to practice at home and build on these concepts. Already many students are showing real potential.

Term 2 Week 7 WOODWORK

This week will see most of the yr 7 students completing their Memo Holders and these will be assessed and then polyurethaned before going home. There is also the expectation that all students will complete their bookwork which explains the process used to make the project. The quality of this written presentation is also to be of a high standard.
